{"id":2897,"date":"2024-04-10T09:33:53","date_gmt":"2024-04-10T09:33:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.haimangiato.com\/?p=2897"},"modified":"2024-04-10T09:33:53","modified_gmt":"2024-04-10T09:33:53","slug":"scrambled-eggs-with-smoked-haddock-and-chives","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.haimangiato.com\/pl\/scrambled-eggs-with-smoked-haddock-and-chives\/","title":{"rendered":"Scrambled Eggs with Smoked Haddock and Chives"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">This is something I\u2019d prepare for us for an Easter Breakfast, with some good bread to go with it and a pot of freshly brewed Earl Grey tea.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The quantities of the ingredients below are a mere indication, add as much or as little of the smoked haddock to your own liking.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><strong><span class=\"s1\">For two:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">5 medium or large eggs <\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">a fillet of smoked haddock, about 250 g, skin off<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">a knob of butter<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">200-250 ml of milk<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">2 garlic cloves, peeled<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">1 bay leaf<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">some chopped chives <\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">salt<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">pepper<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Pour the milk into a small pot, add the garlic and the bay leaf and bring it to the simmer.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Wash the haddock fillet, check for any bones and cut it in half (or in three pieces that would fit in the pot). <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Gently place the haddock in the pot with the milk and poach it for a few minutes, until it just turns flaky and almost falls apart. If the milk doesn\u2019t cover the fillets, shake the pot every now and then, or just turn the fillets over after 1-2 minutes. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Using a slotted spoon take the haddock pieces out and leave on a plate.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">In the meantime whisk the eggs (I like to add a small splash of milk or cream to the eggs).<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Melt the butter in a frying pan, pour over the whisked eggs and fry them as you would normally prepare your scrambled eggs.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Just before the eggs set, season them with a pinch of salt and gently stir in the flakes of haddock (flake the haddock apart using you hands into desirable sizes).<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Finish the dish off in the pan for a few more seconds. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Serve immediately seasoned with some black pepper, more salt if needed, and sprinkle some chives on top.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This is something I\u2019d prepare for us for an Easter Breakfast, with some good bread to go with it and a pot of freshly brewed Earl Grey tea.
